"Four in the Morning"

A sweet, wonderful story from TED:

Rives mentions a poem by the same name in his talk - I pulled out the following stanza because I really liked it:

The hour swept clean to the crowing of cocks / The hour when earth betrays us. / The hour when wind blows from extinguished stars. / The hour of and-what-if-nothing-remains-after-us.

from FOUR IN THE MORNING, Wislawa Szymborska. See the whole poem here.

Disney MagicBand

"If you’re wearing your Disney MagicBand and you’ve made a reservation, a host will greet you at the drawbridge and already know your name—Welcome Mr. Tanner! She’ll be followed by another smiling person—Sit anywhere you like! Neither will mention that, by some mysterious power, your food will find you."

Super interesting article about Disney's MagicBand. It's based on RFID technology, but the implications laid out in this article are kind of staggering.
